My Body As An Archive

AN IMMERSIVE MOVEMENT PIECE ON GRIEF, RITUAL & EMBODIED MEMORY

A project by Mélanie Esther Dorey & KeShawn Mellon

My Body as an Archive is an immersive movement-based performance exploring grief,

memory, and the ways the body carries emotional and ancestral histories.

The work follows a character navigating a moment of personal grief: the anniversary of the loss of a loved one. Through movement, sound, and supportive text, the audience witnesses how memory surfaces in the body through daily gestures, inherited rituals, and intimate emotional landscapes.

Ongoing Creation

My Body as an Archive is currently seeking partners, residencies,

and co-production opportunities for its next stage of development.

If this project resonates with you or aligns with your institution’s mission,
