Hi there !
I’m Mélanie Esther Dorey, an experience designer and facilitator with over 10 years of work in the immersive arts.
I’ve directed and produced participatory events across Paris, New York, San Francisco, and Berlin. My practice blends theatre and performance art, with a focus on audience agency and interaction.
My solo backpacking journeys are a constant source of inspiration, and I also pursue poetry, drawing, and photography as part of my creative practice.
Training & Collaborations
I have a background in contemporary art and cinema, and hold an MFA in directing and producing. I trained with pioneering groups such as Punchdrunk, Odyssey Works, The College of Extraordinary Experiences, and have worked as an assistant director and facilitator with Kaimera Productions.
Alongside my artistic practice, I also contribute to the international discourse on immersive performance, with academic talks and articles exploring the intersections of theatre, Larp, and video games.
Current Chapter
I am now opening a new chapter under my own name — creating immersive stories centered on empathy and connection, while also facilitating workshops and retreats for fellow artists.
I am available as a freelance facilitator and instructor, and always open to new creative collaborations.
