Curiosity Leads to Trouble

A SENSORIAL EXPERIENCE IN WONDERLAND

Written and directed by Mélanie Esther Dorey

In a dreamlike underworld just beyond a velvet curtain, Curiosity Leads to Trouble invited guests into a reimagined Wonderland surreal, sensual, and deeply personal.

Each iconic character awaited in their own dedicated room, where specially crafted scents and silent scenes brought their inner worlds to life. The audience drifted through these shifting spaces, guided not by logic but by intuition and symbolism.

A liminal journey where fantasy met memory through wander and mystery.

Creative Process and Experience Design

This experience was developed at Le Secret, a Parisian venue dedicated to immersive arts. The show took place across multiple rooms designed as sensory installations, drawing from olfactory design, soundscapes and intimate performances.

The experience was built around multi-sensory storytelling and emotional proximity, favoring presence over plot. The production drew inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, but the dramaturgy emphasized subjective perception rather than linear narrative, empowering each visitor to build a personal meaning through their embodied journey.
